The act of making a doll can take a person
through a process of imagination, growth and healing.
This retreat weekend will focus on the growth and
healing aspects of dollmaking. The Dollmaking Circle is a creative process based
on the organizing principle of the Native American medicine wheel.
Participants
will be invited and encouraged to explore their range of perceptions through
the dolls they will create. In doing so each student will have the opportunity
to reach a deeper understanding of themselves and their dollmaking process.
The weekend will be structured around periods of education, meditation,
artmaking, activies and processing.
Techniques learned: This class is not
centered on dollmaking techniques or copying a specific doll design, but
rather around the thought processes that go into creating doll forms to express
a concept or a feeling.
