6 to 8 ounces, flesh tone or mix of your choice, any brand except Sculpey III:

* Plastic bags for leftover clay
Your favorite sculpting tools, and/or tools from
the following list:
* Paring knife or utility knife
* Knitting needles in a variety of sizes, including one that is a size
6, 7 or 8
* Brushes for sculpting.
Include a flat or filbert brush size 3 or 4, plus a filbert size 6.
White nylon bristles don't seem to work well for sculpting brushes, but
sable or Taklon are OK.
*Sharp needle tool
* Paintbrushes for painting eyes, include a fine liner brush
Maureen will provide the aluminum foil, wire, tape,
alcohol,paint and
wire cutters that are needed for this class.
If you choose to make an all-clay figure, bring (or purchase at
Maureen's):
Polymer clay for clothing and hair and accessories, with amount
depending on size of completed character. There are also JoAnn and
Michael's stores nearby for supplies.
If you choose to make a clay and cloth doll-figure, bring:
* An old sweatshirt, sweatsuit, t-shirt or fleece garment that you can
cut up for armature padding (muscles and flesh)
*optional: lightweight quilt batting i
Maureen will have wools and fibers available for
purchase for making the beards and hair, but you can also bring some
with you. |
